If like me you have purchased a multi pen, you may be wondering how to use it.

This is what I have found.

The pen has a press button top and a side button to retract

It has 3 positions marked towards the top of the barrel; 0.5, black dot, red dot.

0.5 refers to the pencil

black dot the black ballpoint

red dot the red highlighter

If you turn the pen so that the relevant symbol is facing you and press the top you will get the appropriate, pencil, pen or highlighter. To retract – just press the grey button on the side. It seems to be very intuitive to use.

The date of my hip operation is likely to be delayed due to a lack of hospital beds on the ward allocated for orthopaedics. There have been a lot of cancelled operations recently-so they will be done before me.

After a phone call to the scheduler this morning, it is highly unlikely that the previously given date of 9th May will go ahead.

At Leighton hospital the ward and beds usually used are being used for other patients.

For those who like numbers

Look at 22 minutes past 2am tomorrow morning (22nd Feb )

The time and date will be

22 02 22 2 2022.

22 mins past 02 ( 2am) on 22 of 2 (Feb) in year 2022.

You will see that it reads the same left to right as right to left ( called Palindromic)

Or if you if you take the short version of 2022 ( ie 22)
The time and date at 22mins past 10pm tomorrow ( 22nd Feb) will be

22 22 2 2 22. ( 22 mins past 22 ( using 24 hour clock) ) on 22 of 2 ( Feb) in the year 22

Or if you ignore the time and take Feb as the 02 month, tomorrow is 22nd Feb 2022 or 22 02 2022. ( another palindrome)

You cannot use the Nikon 1.7 series 2 teleconverter with the Nikon 24-120 f4 lens.

I was wondering this morning- so tried- and they cannot connect.

I think the only lens I can use the 1.7 tc ii with is my 70-200 f2.8

51 years ago today we all had to get used to a new decimal system.
Money caused a lot of confusion.
Units of weight and measures still does to a lot of us older ones.
I was 15 at the time and remember decimalisation day very well.

How often will this happen?

Today is Candlemas day
Half way though winter so farmers should have half their hay or straw remaining. In todays world I have plenty of fondant for the bees should they need it.
In days before global warming, the saying was
“If Candlemas Day be fair and bright, winter will have another flight. If candlemas Day be cloud and rain winter is gone and will not come again”
It will be interesting to see what today’s weather brings.

Beetroot juice is said (by a nurse I visited recently) to naturally help to lower blood pressure. It is recommended that a small glass each day (250ml) is sufficient.

I started on Thursday Evening so I’ll see how it goes. If anyone else has experience of using beetroot juice to lower blood pressure, please let me know.

I bought mine from a nearby supermarket (Tesco) in their long life fruit juice section.

I always took this message to mean make the most of the Time you have and use it in the best way you can.
